My name is Connor and I'm a student at UBC studying Cognitive Systems. I grew up in Calgary and moved to Vancouver for school and work. I've always strived to dig as deep as I could in any interest I have, and now that one of my main interests is product management, I've become obsessed with the world of product.
I began my journey through a psychology science major where I wanted to fully dive into med school and become a psychiatrist. With a strong desire to understand the human psyche, I loved the major, however, alongside studying human brains, I fell in love with software.
Once my love for software slowly outgrew my desire to commit to med school, I made the transfer to a computer science major and attended countless hackathons, completed multiple projects, and landed a software engineer internship position as well. However, my love for understanding human psychology was always in the back of my head.
Now in the past year, I'm pursuing product management and transferred to cognitive systems because it combines computer science AND human psychology. Finding the field of product management through multiple mentors, I have now dove fully into the product world, joining the Product Management Club at UBC, starting a Product Management Internship with UBC, and committing myself to weekly coffee chats with industry PMs to gain knowledge from the best.
This takes me to today where I have created this blog page to share my journey of developing skills in product design and intuition through continual product case studies, which I post here! I hope you enjoy reading through my journey, and what I have learned along the way. Maybe you'll also learn something as well :)
